PROFILE

Forestry department was established on 22 nd of October 2008 and the initiator to create this department is Felixberto P. Pinto, S. Hut, Adelino Rojario, S. Hut  and Pedro A. Soares, S. Hut, furthermore the first chief of department of Forestry was Felixberto P. Pinto, S. Hut
At 2008 it was very difficult period to establish one department because some of the reason are limited qualification lecturers and facilities as like rooms, no laboratory and university has 1 library but all book was not talk about forest

All the limited that we had experienced at that moment we were not measured to develop since and technology but we had a strong commitment to recruit lecturers to continue develop since and technology adequately.

To support all activities for the lecturers, department forestry has maintaining 1 laboratory, 1 library, 2 teaching room, 2 rooms for lecturers used for study program and 1 hectare land for practice in Hera.

VISION

To become a superior study program in the development of science and technology of forestry and especially in managing natural resources in a sustainable and community based.

MISSION

  1. Organizing quality education in the forestry sector to produce   independent licentiate, creative, innovative    and integrity.
  2. Develop science and technology in the forestry sector  through   research that supports forestry development and    environmentally sustainable based on local wisdom
  3. Establish and develop partnership with stakeholders in order to   create sustainable forests and community welfare,
  4. Making the forestry study program an information centre about   the condition of the forests in Timor Leste.

 

OBJETIVU

OBJECTIVE

  1. Organizing educational program capable of producing forestry graduates who have mastering of science and technology, professional, independent, and responsive to changes and beneficial for regional and national development.
  2. Impose and utilize science and technology in the forestry sector through organizing educational program, research and community service which as a whole is intended for the realization of sustainable forests and the welfare of the community
  3. Organizing community service through the utilization of technological innovations in the forestry sector and increase community awareness and capacity in implementing sustainable use of forest resources
  4. Building networks and increasing partnership with outside parties especially the government, business and industrial world and with  other forestry science and technology institution, inside and outside the country to realize quality forestry studies.
